2014 Les Galets
26 acres of the 620 acre Laetitia Vineyard are planted to Syrah in one of the coolest growing regions in the state; a mere 4 miles from the ocean. Calcareous soils and south-facing slope combine to produce grapes that yield supple and concentrated wines.
75% whole cluster fermented in small, open top bins, and spent 15-20 days on skins with a combination of pump-overs and punch downs during fermentation. Aged 20 months in 265 and 228-liter barriques.
Aromas of blackberry, lavender, licorice, pipe tobacco, new leather, warm chocolate, and mineral are framed by a persistent, texture filled finish.
