Vivid ruby. An exotically perfumed nose displays ripe cherry, raspberry and incense scents, complicated by Asian spice and floral pastille notes. Shows impressive depth as well as vivacity on the palate, offering sweet red and blue fruit, lavender and spice cake flavors supported by a spine of juicy acidity. In a silky, graceful style, showing outstanding clarity and a sexy floral note on the strikingly long finish, which features harmonious tannins and a smoky mineral quality.

Another impressive blend is the 2016 Paper Street, which is 45% Grenache, 32% Syrah, 7% Petite Sirah, and the balance Graciano, Mourvèdre, and Zinfandel. This bright, juicy red offers piercing notes of plum and blueberry fruits intermixed with ample violet, incense, and peppery notes. It’s a pleasure-bent, medium to full-bodied, sweetly fruited effort to drink over the coming 6-7 years.
This estate hit a home run with these latest 2016s, and the charming, more supple style of the vintage worked perfectly with the more savory, classic style preferred by McPrice Myers. These are unquestionably the finest wines I’ve tasted from him, and readers should snatch up these wines.

There is torque galore here, with muscular tannins framed by rich black raspberry, stony mineral and garrigue flavors.
