2016 Larner Viognier
Located in Ballard Canyon’s western most area, coastal winds and fog layers combine to produce one of the coolest spots in the entire Santa Ynez Valley. The Larner’s 33 acres are planted to Syrah, Grenache and Viognier in addition to the "Larner Clone" Grenache and Malvasia Bianca.
Whole cluster pressed and cold settled in stainless steel. Fermented in stainless steel and aged in neutral 228-liter French oak barriques and 500-liter puncheons. The wine went through malolactic fermentation and was bottled after 8 months.
Honeysuckle, jasmine, dried pineapple, marmalade, salted brown butter. Rich with plenty of depth and a bright citrus finish. Enjoy with ceviche, spicy curry, and lobster rolls.
